Our weekend

We had a good, but busy, weekend. We are leaving this Friday to head south! The plan is to visit friends in Atlanta this weekend and then go to St. Simons. I am going to stay there with Will until after Christmas, and Matt is going to fly back up here for a week after Thanksgiving to finish his classes and take his finals. I am so excited to get to see family and friends, and I love going to St. Simons, but there is so much to be done before we leave! So we spent Saturday getting a lot of errands done. Saturday morning we went to a coffee shop down the street from us. Notice the car with post-it notes all over it in the background. These people were asking passerby's what was on their to-do list. It was pretty interesting reading some of them. Our favorite was 'fire him.'

In other news...we've been swaddling Will since he was born, but lately he has been kicking out of his swaddling blanket more and more. When I went to get him up from his nap a few days ago I found him like this:

And then yesterday I found him like this (sorry the pictures are so blurry; they were taken with my iphone):

So, we've decided to stop swaddling him and see how it goes. Hopefully he will adjust ok because he is SUCH a good sleeper!

I am loving The Pioneer Woman cookbook, and we made 3 more of her recipes this weekend: olive cheese bread (I did one of her variations and used artichokes instead of olives), sherried tomato soup (although I didn't have sherry, so I just used red wine - and I know it isn't at all the same thing), and jalapeno poppers. They were all delicious and not at all hard to make...just how I like it! Oh, and did I mention they were all low-fat?;)
