31 weeks and nursery preview

How far along: 31 weeks

Size of baby: She is about the size of a pineapple!

How I'm feeling: Very big! Sleeping, getting comfortable, and doing things like bending over to pick toys up off the floor are getting harder, but overall I feel really good! I love being pregnant and feeling this baby kick and move around - it is the best feeling!

Highlights this week: I am in full nesting mode. I spend way too much time on Ebay (for baby girl clothes) and Etsy (for nursery decor) - more just looking than buying anything - but it is so much fun! I have found some of the best deals on Ebay for baby girl clothes - good brands for CHEAP! And I cannot wait to have the nursery done! It will probably be awhile before it is done enough to show pictures, but here is a sneak preview and things I like...
This is the bedding I'm using
lampshade in pink
I couldn't find a picture of the curtains anywhere online - this is the closest I could find, except the ones I got are pink (and probably my favorite thing in the room!)
I'm kind of obsessed with these owl bookends from PBK. One of these days I may break down and buy them!
And I like these knobs from Etsy for her chest
Cute stool!

One of several name signs I like...

I like this bow holder (can you tell I like pink, green, and owls??)
And I love the idea of having a scripture in her room. This is one of my favorite verses and I think it would be cute in green and pink!

Getting out

When you live in cold weather, you can't wait for spring to play at the park...you just have to bundle up and go for it!

Meme here and big boy bed!

My mom came to visit last week! The timing was perfect because Matt had to be in LA for work (a weird side note - he was staying at the same hotel where Whitney Houston had just died and President Obama was also staying there for a fundraiser). Mom was a HUGE help in getting things ready for the nursery. I hadn't given much thought to the nursery before she got here and we made a lot of progress in 3 days! I still don't have anything set up, but at least now I know what to put in there and I can picture what it will look like!

Will LOVED having Meme here to play with him - I think you can tell from these pictures how much these two love each other!

Matt had Monday off work for President's Day and we decided it would be a good day for Will to move to a big boy bed! He was REALLY excited about it and danced around all morning saying "Big boy bed! Big boy bed!" I think he's been ready for awhile - it was mama who wasn't! He does so good with his crib and I am very hesitant to change what is going good. But, I know I have to let my little boy grow up! Most all of his friends his age are already in beds, and I knew we'd need to do this before the baby comes so she can use the crib.

It was kind of sad for me to see his crib and nursery things coming down in his room. My baby is a big boy now!
Will was eager to be daddy's helper!

There is still more to do in there - he needs shams for the bed and something on the walls, but it is coming together! I found these dinosaur sheets so he'd have something "fun" to look forward to with his new bed (he loves dinosaurs) but so far he insists on sleeping on top of the quilt - I guess after sleeping in a crib he doesn't know what to make of covers! (Side note: every piece of furniture you can see in the pictures - the bed frame, the bookshelf under the window, and the desk were all found free on the side of the road last summer!)

Monday night was his first night in his new bed. I sneaked into the room to take a few pictures of Matt reading to him before bed - it was the first time we've been able to lay down with him to read and I thought they looked precious!

Will did great with the transition and even slept until 9am his first night in his new bed! I am so proud of my little boy!

Valentine's Day!

Holidays are so much fun at this age...Will has been talking about Valentine's Day for the last few weeks after making hearts and other Valentine's crafts at school, and he has gotten me excited about it too!

We dipped marshmallows in white chocolate and then rolled them in red and pink sprinkles. He watched me do one and then wanted to do the rest himself! Towards the end he got a little taste of the white chocolate and decided it was pretty good:)

Then we dipped strawberries in chocolate. He liked doing this too!

Then we made cards for daddy! Will was so proud of his card!

Meanwhile mama made heart decorations for our "party" (dinner) with daddy!

Lunch was a heart-shaped pb&j of course!

After nap-time he opened a present from mama and daddy - Charlie Brown's Valentine dvd!

And then daddy came home and we had our party! Will ran up to Matt as soon as he walked in the door and said "Happy 'Valem-times' daddy!" and couldn't wait to show him everything we'd made!

I made risotto with chicken and caramelized onions, spinach salad with cranberries, and chocolate mousse for dessert!

And Will got his treat from daddy - a chocolate covered rice krispie treat on a stick! It was a great Valentine's Day!!
