Moving...

We are busy packing this week...we are moving on Friday!

We've also been getting our new place ready. One of the bedrooms was painted pink with a pink chandelier...adorable for a little girl, but not so cute for Will. So, we painted two bedrooms and Matt installed a fan in one of them!

We took a break Saturday to have a picnic on the floor...cheese, crackers, strawberries, and wine - yum! Will enjoyed trying strawberries...

In an effort to keep Will entertained and out of his daddy's hair, I chased him around the backyard for awhile...

We are exhausted and have a full week ahead of us, but we can't wait to be in our new home!

Congratulations Beau and Kate! We love you guys!

Pulling up!

Over the last week Will has started pulling up and standing! The first place he did it was his crib...I think it is the easiest for him. This was how I found him Sunday afternoon when I went to get him up from his nap...

And here is what he did during his bath this weekend...

And here he is pulling up in the living room...

He was so proud of himself!

He's growing up so fast!

10 months

Will is 10 months old today!

My sweet Will,

  • You are such a fast crawler and you love to crawl around the house exploring! You've also started pulling up and standing this week, especially in your crib!
  • You have started eating finger foods! You love Cheerios...you can pick them up but have a hard time getting them in your mouth. You still drink 4-5 8oz bottles a day, but you are eating more and more food, and we've started feeding you little bites of whatever your daddy and I eat.
  • You've started clapping! It is so cute to watch you!
  • You are very interactive now, and like playing peek-a-boo or being tickled!
  • You take a 1 hour morning nap and about a 2 hour afternoon nap, and sleep at night from about 7:30pm - 8:30am.
  • Right now you are wearing 9 or 12 month clothes.
  • You are so much fun and I love you so much!

Our weekend...part 1

Matt flew to St. Simons for the weekend for his dad's 60th birthday party (happy birthday Mr. Dart)! It was too far for Will to travel for such a quick trip so my mom, sister, and Aunt Faye came to visit me! We had SUCH a good time, and I took so many pictures that I'm breaking it into two posts.

They got here Thursday night and on Friday we showed Aunt Faye around Evanston. Friday night we had to let Aunt Faye experience Chicago deep dish pizza!

My cousin Chrissy and her husband Mike flew into Chicago Saturday morning for his sister's graduation so we met them for breakfast downtown! It was so good to see them and we had fun taking pictures outside afterwards...

I'll post more of the weekend later:)

Mother's Day weekend

Matt surprised me this weekend by taking me to Kohler, Wisconsin to the American Club for Mother's Day! We had such a great time there last fall so I was so excited to go back!

We drove up there Saturday and had dinner at Whistling Straights golf course, where the PGA Championship will be played in a few months! It is beautiful, and right on a cliff overlooking Lake Michigan. I got a few pictures of my handsome fellas before dinner...

We got a table by the window and this was our view! The sun was setting and the sky was stormy and just beautiful!

Matt's lamb dinner

Sunday we woke up and ordered room service for breakfast...I got the belgium waffle with raspberry and creme fraiche and white chocolate! Oh my word, it was soo good!

After breakfast we explored The American Club's gardens...

It was a perfect first Mother's Day!

Eating flowers, having fun, and other exciting news...

I know I have been slack on blogging...so what have we been up to? Well we have some exciting news - we are moving! To a real home...with a backyard! We are currently in a condo so we are thrilled to have more room and a yard for Will and our dogs!

We'll still be in Evanston. We've really grown to love Evanston while Matt has been in school here. I love that it feels like a small town (I really am a "country mouse" at heart), but is so close to the city. I love the tree-lined streets, the parks along the lake, the "downtown" area, and the fact that you can walk just about anywhere. Matt's job will be in downtown Chicago, but Chicago has excellent public transportation (I don't know any 2 car families here) and Matt will be able to walk to the train and then take a 25 minute ride in to work.

We've been enjoying the warm weather with Will...here are a few pictures we took outside yesterday.
